Dedicated to precision and detail

David Schmidt’s dedication to a lifetime of craftsmanship began in 1989 under the guidance of his father, a German-trained Journeyman Carpenter/Cabinet Maker.Together with his wife Jenny—who holds down the office—they founded DMS in 2003, on Vancouver Island, Canada. His range of expertise spans sailboat finishing, fine cabinetry and joinery, to top-down residential home creation.

Today, the Schmidts employ a team of four who work alongside David daily, ensuring consistently high-standards while building hand-tailored, custom homes. DMS hires and works with a qualified network of sub-trade experts and other specialists including electricians, plumbers, architects and interior designers.
